OPERATION SPEAK OUT

At the March  2008 meeting of the Republican Women of Marion County Operation Speak Out was born with the following motion:  "Because we need to find a way to make our voices heard at the local, district, state and national level, and because this can be done better if we do this as an organization, I move that the Republican Women of Marion County form a small committee (3 and no more than 5) to address the many issues that we face as a country and develop resolutions pertaining to those issues.   These resolutions whould be brought to the RWMC for a vote of agreement.    Furthermore, these resolutions should be mailed to the following with an explanation of our intent."

                            The Officers of the AFRW

                            The Officers of the NFRW

                            The Arkansas Republican Party Officials

                             Elected Republican Representatives and Senators

                            The National Republican Committee

                             All Arkansas Women's Organizations

                             Candidates for Office (Republican only) 

                             Such others that we can add a later time.

A committee was formed and the first 3  statements were drawn up; they were voted on at the June 2008 meeting of the RWMC along with the cover letters expalining the purpose of Operation Speak out.   The cover letter to the Women's Groups included an invitation for them to join us in this program.  The letter to our elected representatives and to Party officials expressed the reason for this program is that  "the membership of the RWMC feels a disconnect between the Republican base and the leadership and elected Republican officials" and " that we decry the drift of the party to the left and want to see it remain true to the conservative principles that make it a great party and one that the base can wholeheartedly support."  These letters were mailed on June 14, 2008.          

The second mailing was made  on July 1st.     The first mailing was by U.S. mail,  and on the second mailing  only those letters to our National Republican Party officials  and elected Congressmen received   the statements by U.S. Mail.   The balance was done by E-Mail to save the RWMC the cost of postage.
